East Coast Birding

If you are in Dublin during your stay in Ireland, why not hire Eric Dempsey to take you on a birding tour? An hour, an afternoon, or a day or more - you decide.

We can search for the wide variety of ducks, divers, waders and gulls which can be found along this bird-rich coastline. Included in our itinerary is Clogher Head where we expect to find divers and sea-ducks along with several gull species.

This headland is particularly noted for its attraction for Mediterranean, Glaucous and Iceland Gulls, and it is these species which we will be on the watch for while Common Buzzards are frequently encountered soaring over the adjacent farmlands.

Following this, we can journey along the Boyne Estuary, having visited Baltray on our way to Clogher. This estuary attracts thousands of waders and wildfowl each winter, and provides an excellent opportunity to observe these species at close quarters.

Eric reccommends these birding areas for the numbers and diversity of the birds they hold as well as providing an excellent opportunity to see some of the finest birding habitats along eastern Ireland.
